I am a native New Yorker from Queens with a background in the Performing Arts.  While living in New York, I had a great opportunity to be part of a few Hollywood film productions which you can read more about it here.  I am also proud to be part of My Final Shot:  A network where independent film makers and actors get the opportunity to showcase their craft and work with each other.

I began my career working in the Accounting Field, processing and handling Payroll and Billing.

In 1998, I relocated to Kansas City where I continued my career in the Accounting Field in the Railroad Transportation Industry. After processing payroll and billing for more than 15 years, I felt that I needed to learn new skills and challenge myself more in my career.

I taught myself advanced Microsoft Excel and was able to create a massive spreadsheet that ultimately contributed to the restructuring of the company and saved an average of $600 thousand dollars a year. This led me to the position of Payroll and Billing Manager.

During my two year tenure as a Payroll and Billing Manager I taught myself Microsoft Access, SQL, VBA, web design, application development and system integrations. I took the initiative to convert the Excel spreadsheets into Access and link it to the dispatch system, further automating the total process. These conversions led to the lay-off of 13 accounting clerks, saving the company even more money, by giving the company the possibility in some cases to bill and receive payment prior to issuing payroll.

Since 2005, I continued my career as an application developer utilizing my experience and knowledge of multiple programming languages for the School Transportation Industry.

I have had the opportunity to pursue and obtain additional training and certifications for the type of career I have taught myself over the years.

I offer significant skills in the areas of project and department management; restructuring to increase revenue; and quality assurance. Now I would like to bring my more than 20 years of expertise and knowledge to work for your company.

My ability and experience in both software design and accounting duties (both manually and electronically), through design and redesigning applications, data imports, together with my attention to detail, have contributed to my successes in Application/Software Design/Redesign Programming. I have performed and directed a wide variety of activities, including development, integration and implementation of new systems and software in many different departments. I possess outstanding design, analysis, and problem-solving abilities, and am adept at determining specifications, preparing diagrams and schematics. During my career I have designed numerous products and components that are still in use today.

I am skilled at working with clients, technical personnel, and business teams to provide information and solutions to potential and existing issues. I have directed teams, projects, and departments, and I am familiar with supervising all managerial functions, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and budgeting.

I am an effective organizer and planner. My outgoing and friendly nature allows me to interact well with other staff members at all levels and I am able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical persons. I pride myself on being a team player and consider meeting deadlines a personal priority.
